From Here To Absurdity was formed in 2001 by Richard Kelly, and its various line-ups have performed in about 100 different venues, in deliberately remote and obscure parts of the country. Despite its tendency to go off-the-beaten-track, the show has attracted favourable comment from a wide-range of reviewers, examples of which are listed below:

|
"From Here To Absurdity returned to the area for a two-night run at Bishop Monkton and did not disappoint their loyal followers. Lucy Simons’ razor-sharp comic-timing, allied to the searing satire of Rick Kelly and Ashley Hern, brought the theatre to life and sent us all home laughing.". |

"If you want top-notch comedy without being fleeced, you might spend more time at downbeat venues like The Railway
(nr. Oldham) watching acts like From Here To Absurdity. In the process,
you could see future stars like Caroline Major - the next Caroline
Aherne I reckon - honing their skills in such unlikely places as
Saddleworth". |

"There aren't too many live sketch shows around and this must be one of the best. What's more, you don't have to be drunk to enjoy it. In fact, its clever-clogs character means you have to keep your wits about you. So catch these 3 while you can". |
James Reid - Glossop Chronicle

"In an unlikely venue for dynamic comedy, FHTA proved that, no matter how modest the setting, quality writing and good acting will always shine through...something out of the mould yet still enjoyable. The gifted team of comic actors showed a huge range of accents and characters which made it easy to forget how small the cast was". |
Owen Matthews - Winsford Chronicle

"...shamelessly retro... this sort of menopausal nonsense is much, much funnier than the more youthful and assertive comedy we see in city centre clubs. It's a bit like preferring the company of your mates while recognising that your Dad is wittier". |
Chris Harper - Yorkshire Post

"It was the best live comedy act we'd seen in ages; topical, pacey and often brutally satirical... It's only a matter of time before the Absurdity Four hit our screens". |
Mike Hartley - Wharfedale and Airedale Observer

"Clever, pacey stuff which had us rocking with laughter... local boy Rick Kelly had assembled some sharp material and a brilliant cast". |

"A show that can make you laugh so hard you get odd looks". |

"When – not if – the Absurdity team achieve fame nationwide, remember you saw them first in (of all places) Kirkby Malzeard!". |

"Anyone who has seen the show will agree it is one of the best live comedy shows going…a refreshing change from stand-up". |
